Ramy Youssef is an Egyptian-American comedian, actor, writer, and director born in the Queens borough of New York City.

He later grew up in New Jersey. His father became the manager of the Plaza Hotel in New York City ten years after emigrating from Egypt. Youssef was raised in a Muslim family, observes Islamic holidays, and is a practicing Muslim.
