Based in Warsaw, Poland, BLOW UP PRESS is a publishing house founded in that specializes in art books centered on contemporary photography and documentary themes. With the motto “When the story matters,” BLOW UP PRESS has been gaining international recognition through photobooks that capture themes reflecting the times.
The publishing house is visiting Tokyo to participate in the Tokyo Art Book Fair (November 28 – December 1, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo) and will be holding a special talk event at Reminders Photography Stronghold.

The event will feature Grzegorz Kosmala, the founder and driving force behind BLOW UP PRESS, and designer Aneta Kowalczyk, who will discuss their unique, market-defying approach to publishing and showcase some of their rare and latest books.
Since , BLOW UP PRESS has hosted the “BUP Book Award,” which offers selected photography projects the opportunity to be published as photobooks.

RPS curator Yumi Goto has also participated as a juror for the award on two occasions, deepening connections between the BUP and the photography community.

The event will feature highlights such as by Ilias Georgiadis, Deceitful Reverence by Igor Pisuk, and BLOW UP PRESS’s latest releases, including Encyclopædia by Weronika Gęsicka and Burn After Seeing by Tomasz Laczny, which will have its book launch in Tokyo.
Note: Doors open at PM, allowing attendees to browse BLOW UP PRESS’s publications and explore the RPS library before the talk begins.
